Buzzwords: Are they all mere “sound and fury” that represent nothing? Alternatively, are they beneficial instruments that can improve an individual’s profile?

The most frequently used terms among HR professionals on LinkedIn were recently disclosed in a report.

“Jon Addison, LinkedIn UK’s head of talent solutions, understands the significance of keywords in the process of identifying the ideal candidate for HR and recruitment.”

“However, it is crucial to bear in mind that it is a reciprocal relationship; candidates will also be evaluating your online presence.”

The list indicates a change in the emphasis of HR leaders from emphasizing personal strengths to focusing on skills and abilities that can be precisely categorized.

Professor of Sociolinguistics Rodney Jones contributed commentary to the report, stating that the transition from generic terms to more specific terms like “skilled” and “experienced” is indicative of the increasing specialization of job responsibilities.

“Roles in the pharmaceutical and banking sectors, for instance, are subject to heightened scrutiny, necessitating the possession of more verifiable skills and attributes.”
